SCADA Sync: New features

SCADA Sync is used to import SCADA alarms into a TopView configuration/Engine.
New features include:

  • iFIX: OPCUA support
  • InTouch: Analog alarm limits can be dynamic
When importing alarm tags, a new option exists to link analog alarm limits to the limit tags instead of importing the limits as fixed numbers.
  • ClearSCADA/GeoSCADA: Support to import non-digital alarm types

Email (outgoing): Support for Microsoft Email “Client Credentials flow”

TopView now supports outgoing email through Microsoft using “Client Credentials flow”. This method authenticates email with Microsoft using a certificate or app secret as a credential instead of using the public MS365 API (Sign in with Microsoft account). Previous versions only supported this method for incoming Email.

Email: Google OAuth support for “granular consent” to prevent possible loss of access to Gmail

This change applies to TopView email settings implemented through the “Sign in with Google” option.

For some accounts, this authorization will now display additional options for how long access will be granted.
Example: “If you allow Exele TopView access to your Gmail data, Google will ask you to review their access to your Google data every 6 months, and this access will expire on…”

Users should check the box “I want to allow Exele TopView ongoing access….” to prevent the 6-month review. Without this option selected, TopView may fail to send/receive email unless the access is reviewed before the expiration date.

Recommended: Existing TopView users should reauthorize both Outgoing and Incoming email settings.

Web Configurator: Search

The TopView Web Configurator is a web-based TopView Configuration Tool providing many of the same configuration functions available in the desktop Configurator.

A new search bar appears at the top of Web Configurator. The search bar can be used to find configurations, tags, and tag group settings.

Pushover: Cancel reminder for acknowledged alarm

TopView supports Pushover for alarm notifications and optionally allows the recipient to acknowledge the alarm.

The Pushover app will remind the user about unacknowledged alarms based on the Pushover Reminder settings configured in TopView.

In previous versions of TopView, the reminder was cancelled if the user acknowledged the alarm from the Pushover app.
In this release, a new option instructs TopView to cancel the reminder if the alarm is acknowledged in TopView outside of the user’s Pushover app.

OPCUA: Read Method

In previous versions, the TopView Engine would always read new tag values through a monitored list/subscription.
A new option has been added to allow TopView to read raw tag values each refresh. Note that this option may increase the read time but this can be used as a workaround for any issues with monitored lists/subscriptions.

TopView with Emerson AMS Machine Works: Configuration

TopView can monitor alarms in AMS Machine Works, a rotating machinery asset health monitoring application from Emerson.

A configuration document is now installed to help users configure the communication between TopView and Machine Works as well as the configuration and detection of Machine Works alarms.

Yeastar TG200 LTE radio verification tool

The Yeastar TG200 device can be used for both SMS and cellular phone calls in TopView

The Yeastar TG200 has two cellular radios. Some customers incorrectly purchase older versions of the device that do not contain LTE radios and are unable to work with current carrier SIM cards.

TopView now includes a tool that will verify that the Yeastar TG200 cellular radios support LTE.
