TopView Alarm Analytics
 |
Alarm Analytics
provides local and remote TopView alarm history analysis
through interactive tables and charts. Alarm Analytics
assist the user with the identification of nuisance or
poorly configured alarms, alarm flooding, and time-based
alarm activity trends (time of day, shifts, ...).
After selecting the analysis period and alarm filter,
TopView Alarm Analytics displays alarm events per
monitored point (alarm counts, average duration, and
total duration), alarm occurrence by user-defined period
(alarm occurrence count for each user-defined interval)
and active alarm count over time (total active alarm
count and alarm event details during the time range). |
Improved Tag/Row
Referencing with Tag ID
 |
TopView alarm limits,
operations, and AND gate support referencing other
monitored TopView points (tags). For example, the alarm
condition for point A can reference the alarm or
acknowledge state of point B.
When referencing a
point (Point B above), previous versions required the
user to enter the point's absolute row number or row
offset from the current point (Point A above). This
syntax was dependent on the order of the points in the
the TopView monitored tag list.
The new Tag ID field is
a user-given, unique identification for a monitored
point and can be used for all tag/row references in
TopView in place of absolute or offset row numbers. This
allows tag referencing that is independent of the order
of the points in the monitored tag list. |
TopView SQL beta
(TopView for ODBC/OLEDB data sources)
 |
TopView SQL allows users
to easily monitor, alarm, and send notification for
database query results performed against databases
(DBMS), spreadsheets, and files.
TopView SQL supports ODBC or OLEDB data sources
including Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft
Access, MySQL, Paradox, FoxPro, IBM Informix, DB2,
ISeries,
PI OLEDB (for OSISoft PI), Microsoft Excel, and Flat
files (CSV, tab-delimited, ..)
TopView SQL can be used to
monitor data from process data historians, lab systems,
inventory systems, and more. Because it supports both
ODBC and OLEDB, most DBMS's can be monitored by TopView
SQL. |
Additional changes
and new
features include:
-
Alarm History Custom Tasks:
Launch custom tasks based on the selected alarm event
-
Date/Timestamp tags: TopView
now supports date/timestamp tags as the monitored TopView
point data type, including support for date/time-based alarm
limit comparison (TopView SQL and TopView PI)
-
TopView Configurator:

-
Custom fields: <format>
specifier added to customize format of displayed timestamps
in custom fields
-
"Gated" Alarm Limit String:
