Dynamic notification recipients
Store notification recipients (email, phone, ...) in tag values

The TopView Contacts List allows the user to organize email addresses, phone numbers, pager ID, ..., of TopView recipients as 'Contacts'. Contact fields (work email, home phone, ...) can be used as recipients for alarm notification, scheduled reports, and more.

The value for each Contact notification field (work email, home phone, ...) can now specify a string tag whose value holds the desired field value. Upon notification to this contact, the tag value is read and used as the recipient.

Add value of any tag to messages and notifications

In previous version of TopView, the user could include the current value of any monitored tag in an alarm message or notification message. A new placeholder allows the user to include the current value of any tag, even if the tag is not in the TopView monitored tag list.

The new placeholder allows the user to specify the server, tag name, and optional formatting if the tag value is numeric. The new placeholder does not count the tag against the TopView tag count license.

Configurator: Monitored tag list enhancements

Row numbers: The first column of the monitored tag list now displays the row number (1...n) of each tag. Previously, the row number was displayed in a tooltip and in the Selected Tag Settings.

Retrieve tag values: A new button ("Get values") allows the user to retrieve the current tag values and tag description for the tags in the monitored tag list. New columns for value/status/timestamp/desc have been added to the tag list to display the results.

Sorting: The tags in the monitored tag list can now be sorted by clicking the column headers of the tag list. Once the tags in the tag list are sorted, they can be re-ordered to the current sort order. Re-order sets the current row numbering (1...n) based on the displayed sort order in the tag list. This allows the tags to re-ordered based by any of the displayed tag list columns (tag name, server, Tag Group, Tag ID, ...).

Hide Tag Groups from Remote Viewer

In previous versions of TopView, each Tag Group was initially displayed to the Remote Viewer user. The Remote Viewer user could then decide to hide/filter one or more Tag Groups from view.

A new Tag Group setting (available in the TopView Configurator) allows a Tag Group to be hidden from the Remote Viewer user by default unless the Remote Viewer user unhides the Tag Group.

Scheduled Alarm Report retry

If TopView is logging alarms to SQL Server, each Scheduled Alarm Report will, by default, use SQL Server as the source for the alarms in the report. In previous version of TopView, if the creation of a Schedule Alarm Report failed due to a connection error to SQL Server (e.g. database maintenance), the Scheduled Alarm Report would fail. The failure was logged to the TopView application log, but there was no future attempt to create the missed report.

Now, failure to create a Scheduled Alarm Report due to a SQL Server error will be retried every 5 minutes until the next normally scheduled report. Each retry attempt will, if successful, use the original report start and end times of the failed scheduled report.

Admin Tools: list port usage across all TopView Engine instances

Each instance of the TopView Engine can listen for Remote View connections on a user-selected port.

In TopView Admin Tools, the "All TopView configurations" tab of the Remote Viewer Connections screen will display the listen port details for each running instance of the TopView Engine (port number, listen state).
