Requirements

TopView® has few requirements beyond the chosen data source.

• Data Source

  • TopView OPC and SCADA:
    OPC Servers: OPC Data Access (DA) 2.05 or later. Read more..

  • TopView PI:
    PI Servers: PR1 (3.4. 375.38) or later. PI Server can be local or remote to the TopView computer
    PISDK: 1.3.6.361 or later on the TopView computer. Read more..

  • TopView SQL:
    ODBC or OLEDB Databases. May require ODBC driver or OLEDB Provider from database vendor. Read more..

  • TopView PerfMon:
    No special requirements. Read more..

• Computer

  • Operating Systems: TopView Configuration, Engine and Remote Viewer application will install and run on Windows 2003, XP, Windows Vista (32/64), Windows 2008 (32/64), Windows 7 (32/64)

  • CPU
    Any current CPU. TopView can take advantage of multi-core CPUs since each TopView Engine/configuration runs as a separate process.

  • Disk:
    10GB free disk space recommended. This is much more than typically used by TopView, but it is quite small considering the size of today's hard drives.
    TopView log files will accumulate over time but can be automatically purged.

  • Memory:
    Each running TopView Window (configuration) will use 20-150 MB memory, so recommended free memory before TopView is 500MB plus 150MB X number of TopView configurations running.

  SQL Server 2000 or later for optional database alarm logging
